CKC Owner, Chuck Powell, as been nominated as the LLS 2012 Man of the Year. This title, although an honor, is far less important than the opportunity it grants us to raise money for a organization that is developing new cures for blood cancers.
"As my wife Kristal and I know from our dedication to custom home building - the difference is in the details," said Powell. "Of course we want to raise the most money to be able to do the most good. However, we know that LLS is about the details. They ensure that every dollar raised goes to our neighbors struggling with Leukemia and Lymphoma as well to national research that is finding a cure to this cancer."

Taking risks is something Charles (Chuck) Powell knows a lot about. He started CKC Custom on little more than the money in his savings account and his wife’s encouragement and insistence. It’s not like he was a complete novice though. Powell was born in to the building and construction industry and his father set him to work digging foundations, laying cement and framing out houses when he was old enough to hold a hammer. <more>
